I was miserable and weighed more than I ever did in my life. My blood pressure was out of control. After many attempts to diet I asked my family to help me find a doctor that would help me. My son did, thank goodness. I set my mind to do this, which plays an important part in losing weight.
I worried that I had to come so far and if I could stick with it. I drove over 600 miles round trip each month. Then the cost of office visits was quite expensive, but I feel I’ve added years to my life. It has been worth every cent I spent to feel so much better.
Every visit has been successful for me. I dropped 15 to 20 pounds per month. Phentermine controlled my appetite. Metformin helped with insulin. Lexapro relieved stress. The only side effect was I could not take vitamins and phentermine together.
This is the easiest diet I have ever been on. I have certainly tried many diets. I weighed 263 lbs. first visit and 10 months later I weigh 145 lbs. I feel so much better and about 15 years younger. I like myself when I put clothes on. I have so much more energy and confidence in myself now.
I was thinking about retiring from my job, I felt so tired all the time. Now I am going to work as many years as I can. I am also going to work hard to maintain the weight I reached.”

I have suffered from a life-long battle with weight. Diet after diet only led to one disappointment after another one.
At Tate Healthcare everyone made me feel comfortable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I received a lot of great reading material about the program and obesity.
The treatment has been incredible! I saw results the first week and that kept me motivated. This has been the easiest program I have done. The medications have worked well for me.
I’ve gotten the benefit of weight-loss, of course—but in addition I have lost inches! And I have more energy than I have had for a long time.
The most important thing about the program is Dr. Tate. He never makes you feel bad about yourself. He takes time to talk to you about your concerns and gives you suggestions on how to handle a difficult situation.

I was overweight, depressed, just feeling awful in general. I’d been diagnosed with hypothyroid and my weight had just gotten out of control.
At my first visit with Dr. Tate I was scared and anxious! But after seeing and talking with Dr. Tate, I have hope! Dr. Tate was great to talk to and easy to talk to. Very relaxing! I know his plan will work for me. It is very realistic and healthy. I’d recommend him in a second. In fact, I already have.
So far, no side effects from the medications. I already have the benefit of hope! Which I didn’t have before Dr. Tate!
Going is believing! Just do it and you will see how much Dr. Tate will open your eyes. I was worried it would be to ritzy. But all of his staff and he were down to earth.

I have ‘worried’ with my weight for years. Finally, my boss convinced me to try Dr. Tate. She and I teamed up to see Dr. Tate on your ‘buddy’ plan and started our counseling with Dr. Tate last April 14th.
After our first visit I think we both knew this program was going to work for us! We both had thought Dr. Tate might be a ‘quack’ and only in it for the money but we found him to be attentive and caring about our feelings and questions. We never have felt rushed in an office visit. He has a great chairside manner!
I have continued to lose weight each month. The first month was 18 pounds and about 12 inches, from what I remember. I usually lose 5-8 pounds a month and so far have lost 60 pounds.
It has been painless also. The foods you eat are satisfying and there are many foods on the market now to help you stay on a low carb program. I love to travel and eating while away from home has not been a big problem on this program. The month we went on a cruise I still lost weight!
Now I love to try on clothes. And the compliments I have had on my new look have been so much fun! My husband is very proud of me. All of this has encouraged him and my daughter to go on the low carb plan too. He has lost 35 lbs and my daughter has lost 45 pounds.
I truly believe this is a plan I can live with for the rest of my life. And all because of Dr. Tate! Whatever it costs, it is worth it!

I started out considerably overweight. I had low self confidence. When it came to my appearance, I always felt like everyone knew what size I wore and how much I weighed. I had low energy levels and felt bad all the time.
I was very nervous about my first appointment [at Tate Healthcare]. I had never tried to lose weight through a set program. All of my questions were answered before I could even ask!! Everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. We set my goals!
[Treatment has been] wonderful!! The first two weeks were the hardest. Only because you tend to eat a lot of high carb foods out of habit. The treatment has worked perfectly for me.
What benefits? Where do I start? I got my personality back! I’m much more confident, and in three months I’ve gone from a size 20-22 to a 14!! I NEVER thought I could do this, and I have with the help of Tate Healthcare.
If you are having any doubts, just call and ask questions! Everyone at Tate is more than willing to help. The best thing is that now I am more than willing to tell you how much I weigh and what size I wear! And if you’re concerned about the cost—it is actually more than you think . . . don’t forget the new clothes, new running shoes, new hair cut and the new you! It’s definitely worth it!

I was considered obese. I had lots of joint pain and heartburn due to carrying so much weight on my small frame. I didn’t sleep well at night and had practically no energy.
Everyone at Tate has been wonderful—not just during my first visit, but all those afterwards too.
I’ve lost over 36 pounds. I don’t have any of the problems I noted in the first paragraph. The hardest part was learning what I could eat.
I have more energy, no chronic pain and I feel better about the way I look.
If you’ve been unsuccessful at other weight-loss programs this one could be the answer you’ve been looking for. It really works!”

I had gained so much weight (a lot of belly fat) that I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was very unhappy with myself, tired all the time, no energy, sad and depressed.
Dr. Tate and his staff were so nice and you could just tell by visiting with him that he really cared and could help you and wanted to help you. He explains everything about the program to where you can understand it. I just felt it’s going to work!
The medications prescribed work great. I was surprised how it kept me from craving all the wrong foods I’d eaten before. On this low-carb diet, you are not deprived of food because you still eat good food.
In the first month I lost 17 pounds and five inches off the waist. The next month I lost 17 pounds again and two inches off the waist. I already see it’s not going to take long for me to reach my goal weight. I feel so much better and happier.
It is truly worth the money you spend because it does work, and it’s not hard like you would think it would be. I have so much more energy that I now feel like going to the gym to work out. I work outside a lot now, also. And I’m just feeling so much better about life
Thanks so much to Dr. Tate’s help. So anyone with weight problems, go see Dr. Tate. He can help you and it does work.

Over the course of 10 years I had gained a great deal of weight; my feet ached and my muscle tissue hurt. I was even taking pain medication and going to a podiatrist. My outlook was very bleak.
The [Tate Healthcare Specialists] clinic is very calm and attention has been paid to privacy. I like the fact that there are no “exam rooms.” I see my doctor regularly and monitor my own health so I don’t need more “exams.
Treatment has been a journey. I’ve learned so much about food and emotional needs. I also have e-mailed Dr. Tate and gotten an immediate reply.
I can walk and run 2 miles now. I am wearing smaller clothes and during the holidays my husband and I went dancing. I am setting a good example for my daughter.
I think if one does a cost comparison there are several interesting facts. How valuable is your life? How much medication are you taking for weight related health problems? What are the long-term benefits of being healthy? How much is a gym member ship that you’ll never use because you are embarrassed by your weight?

After being on every diet there is, I would lose then gain it back. I decided to try Dr. Tate. I am so glad I did.
After my first visit, I knew this is the diet plan for me. I enjoyed talking with Dr. Tate each month.
I am so happy to say I have lost 44 pounds and I can live with this diet plan the rest of my life. There are a lot of good low carb foods.
I had to buy all new clothes and I enjoyed buying and trying them on. Every one I know tells me how good I look and wants to know how I lost my weight.
I tell everyone Dr. Tate and the low-carb diet plan is the best and only way to lose weight. Thank you Dr. Tate.

I was having trouble sleeping, I had high cholesterol, and I felt like I looked awful in my clothes.
My first visit [with Dr. Tate] was a very nice experience. I was very impressed with Dr. Tate and was very encouraged.
The treatment has been great. I had no trouble with the medication and I had no trouble staying on the low carb diet.
The benefits I received from the treatment was that I lost 47 pounds, I look great in my clothes, I sleep like a baby, and I have gotten off of my cholesterol medicine.
I would recommend this diet to anyone. I went through the Holidays and still lost 10 pounds. I went to several parties and functions and didn’t cheat any. I took my own chips and ate what I could have and it didn’t bother me.
Dr. Tate has been so encouraging and helpful. I was very impressed with how great he looks and I wanted that.

I had a general lack of stamina, wanted to sleep all the time, no energy, knee problems, etc.
The first visit was very helpful. The people there are very nice. Dr. Tate made me feel comfortable and not like a failure in life.
I had an initial set-back. It was very hard for me going from 500 gm net carbs a day to 30 gm per day. But after a couple of months with the medications, it became easy.
Dr. Tate is always encouraging. He has a great feel for the low-carb lifestyle since he himself is on the plan. I have lost 70 pounds so far and am excited about my future.

[Before treatment with Dr. Tate I was] “following a low-fat diet and exercising one hour a day, 5 days a week for one year: I had lost a total of 10 pounds.
[With treatment by Dr. Tate I] lost 6 pounds the first month on the protein diet without any real cravings for food.
The protein diet has worked very well. All together I have lost a total of 35 lbs. I hit a plateau for 2 months, but with new medication my last visit I had lost 6 lbs. more.
Diabetes runs in my family and I was a borderline hypoglycemic; but on this diet I find I am full and even if I get hungry I don’t have the shakes, headaches, queasiness that goes with hypoglycemia.
This is not just a fad. The doctor himself is on the diet and has made it more a way of life.
[At Tate Healthcare Specialists] they work with you; do not make you feel bad if you hit a plateau like I did, but work to get you back on track.

I was overweight, didn’t feel good—was very self-conscious. Everything I would eat made me feel bad—didn’t fit into clothes like I wanted to.
[Tate Healthcare] made me feel like I was very important to them. I left there knowing I had gone to the right place to help me get back on track.
[Medication has had] no side effects—I would not even know I was taking anything.
. . . I feel 100% better—I have learned to eat what I’m supposed to. Stomach problems are gone. I have dropped 2 sizes in clothing in 2 months.
[Dr. Tate] has helped me to be accountable to the doctor. He’s been there and knows what we need. I always feel he has my best interest at heart. He wants me to succeed. I truly believe his is the safest, easiest & life-long life style. I don’t have to worry about eating anywhere—there’s always something there I can eat.”

I needed to lose weight to relieve the stress on my joints following hip replacement. I’ve been overweight all of my adult life. Many diet plans left me gaining any weight lost plus a few pounds more. All diets left me miserable, emotionally upset, hungry & craving all the foods I couldn’t have on those diets.
Everyone at the clinic [Tate Healthcare Specialists] were very nice, helpful and more than willing to discuss all my concerns & questions. Dr. Tate has always been an excellent sounding board for me and is a very likeable & understanding man. Never have I had to endure shame as at Weight Watchers or TOPS. I have appreciated the intelligent exchange of ideas and consideration. I had to suspend my program for several months due to serious surgery & my husband’s cancer treatment.
[Treatment has been] “Very good! The “dieting” has been so much more satisfying for me than any other. I have always loved meat, cheese, and butter—all the things I can now eat! My medication helps too and minor adjustments have been done with good results.
I now have a positive attitude toward losing weight. My general health has improved much to the wonderment of my family doctor.
I believe this is the best way to lose weight for me or anybody else. One does not need to constantly dwell on foods & what can be eaten, as most diets require special planning, measuring & coordination—thus you are always thinking about food, what you cannot eat and knowing you will end up eating food you didn’t want in the first place!”

I have done the “yo-yo” diets for many years. I took quite a few pounds off about 4 or 5 years ago by taking a supplement plan, but did not change my eating habits. The weight came back and I continued to gain. The clothes that fit me were not stylish and I felt they were made with an older generation in mind. It was not much fun to shop—a person can only buy so many shoes!
I worked with people who had already started going to Dr. Tate, but I was still a little nervous about the initial visit. I found Dr. Tate was very easy to talk to. He explained the program and reassured me that if I had any questions, concerns or problems with the medications that he was available by phone or e-mail and that he checked them all day long.
This has been the easiest way I have lost weight. I do not feel hungry or like I’m depriving myself. I have lost the weight quickly and have not had any bad side effects from the medicine. I have recommended this program to many others
So far, I have gone down 4 sizes and lost over 44 pounds. I am always being asked about how much weight I have lost. There are people who haven’t seen me in a while and they can’t believe it. It’s so much fun to go shopping for clothes again; in fact, I am not only shopping for shoes anymore. I can wear stylish clothes and not hide in a size larger than I actually wear—it’s fun to wear things that don’t look like tents.
[At Tate Healthcare] The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. The ‘tips’ or newsletter that you get helps to give you new ideas for snacks and where you can buy them.
It is nice to know that you can bring a ‘buddy’ because you can help each other and keep each other encouraged.
If you are thinking about going, I would encourage you to go because you won’t regret it.”

I was 75 lbs. overweight, having trouble breathing, couldn’t get up after getting down to do anything near the floor.
[At Tate Healthcare Specialists] the office staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Tate was very kind, understanding, and informative about how we could change my condition.
[Treatment has been] excellent: in 7 months I have lost 63 lbs., six inches around my waist, and the roundness in my face.
I can now walk anywhere without shortness of breath & my blood pressure has dropped from 145 over 85 to 105 over 60.

I have struggled with my weight for years and finally hit “my panic point!”
[At Tate Healthcare] all the staff was very supportive and encouraging.
I have lost approximately 60 lbs. in 7-8 months. Dr. Tate has been very accurate in his assessment and expectations of my weight loss. He is very supportive and encouraging.
I feel full of energy. My self-esteem and confidence are much improved. I feel like my “old self” again. I am becoming the “me I want to be.”

[I was] uncomfortable in clothes, lacking energy, and feeling desperate to do something to make a change.
Dr. Tate was very kind. He really understands what it’s like to be overweight. The low-carb diet was explained and two helpful books were given to me that help.
The medications really help me to stay on the low-carb diet.
[I feel] more comfortable in my clothes and [have] more energy. I have more confidence too!

I craved carbs all the time. I tried all types of diets & just couldn’t stick to them. I was gaining weight & getting nowhere but bigger.
[At Tate Healthcare] It was a very comfortable experience. Dr. Tate shares information with you. I wasn’t for sure about this at first until I met Dr. Tate & listened.
I have had more enjoyment, felt better than I have in a long time. The meds do really work w/o any side effects.
I purchased a Total Gym 1700 Club. I am addicted to it. If I miss a night working out, I can tell. I work out 20 mins. My stress level has reduced.
If you have tried all other diets & pretty much given up, call Dr. Tate. I thought ‘man that’s a lot of money’ but my wife said not as much as a funeral or hospital visit if you don’t do something.
It has been a life change for me. My wife does the food program with me so it really has become a life change for us instead of a diet.

Let’s be real: eating myself to death. Eating myself out of a job. I drive a school bus. I have sleep apnea, poor circulation in my legs, borderline high blood pressure, depression.
[At the first visit] I was very unsure of what I was getting into, knowing I needed some help, and worrying about the money that it was going to cost me. Could I do this?
This experience has been very positive. The people [at the clinic] are really great. This has been the best money I’ve spent. This is a very workable plan. They have helped me to make this a part of my life, not just another diet.
I’ve lost almost 100 pounds. I sleep better, I have more energy to do my job as a bus driver, and I feel better about myself. It’s not a question of can I do this task now, I just do it. Wonderful!
What do you have to lose but weight? You’ll get back your self-esteem. You won’t be alienated at your job because you are overweight. There is no limit to your ability.
This is real life. This is not easy, but Dr. Tate will help you and show you how if you let him. He has saved my life. I believe that.

I was overweight and on the verge of losing my commission [in the military] related to my size.
Dr. Tate was understanding of the situation and the importance of the National Guard to my life. He was very informative on the lifestyle changes needed to help me reach my goals.
I have already lost over 50 pounds and I am well on my way to being able to keep my stripes.
I have more energy and my clothing fits better. My wife, who has helped me by implementing the lifestyle changes I needed, has lost 25 pounds and is regaining the confidence she had when we first met.

[Before treatment with Dr. Tate] . . . lack of motivation, other weight loss methods not producing results, not being able to stick to a weight loss program or diet, hopeless, lack of energy, almost an acceptance of being overweight, ashamed.
[First visit at Tate Healthcare Specialists] Friendly, helpful staff, attitude of helpfulness and hopefulness, encouraged, easy to follow diet and lifestyle change.
[So far, treatment has been] Easy! Easy to follow diet. Easy to make choices while eating out one to two times daily. Positive results. Weight loss has been rapid. It has been encouraging—very encouraging!
[Benefits of treatment] More energy, increased self-esteem, improved health, lower blood pressure, decreased and eliminated problems with feet and ankles, improved confidence level, improved attitude—attitude of hope.
This lifestyle change is very doable. I am able to eat out daily with friends and family without feeling deprived. The foods I am eating make me feel better. I have more energy, I can now comfortably cross my legs! I feel pretty and attractive again. Basically, I’ve been more than 100 pounds overweight for nine years. Several of my friends are now living the low-carb lifestyle. They have been an excellent support group for me.

I was overweight and could not seem to control food cravings. I had dieted (low fat, low-calorie) for a period of 18 months, only to find myself starving and eating all the wrong foods.
The first visit [at Tate Healthcare] was nothing like I expected: no exam rooms, just a conversation with Dr. Tate about changing to a new lifestyle, a low-carb one. He seemed very educated and made it sound simple.
The treatment has been great! I have learned to eat healthy, low-carb foods and have found many foods are available in low-carb, even chocolate and it tastes great.
In three months I have gone from a 22 to a 16 and I am feeling great. It is not about pounds, necessarily, but inches that count. I have lost 27 ½ pounds, but the inches seem like they are melting away.
You can do it! Just give Dr. Tate’s staff a call (the staff are great, too). It is very easy and is not like a diet—it is a lifestyle. People around you notice a change quickly!
You will feel great and look great. Your life and health are more important than time and money, so if you have a need to change your lifestyle call today—you won’t be disappointed.

I have struggled with my weight for about the last 20 years. It became commonplace to watch my weight move up and down the scale depending on what kind of situation I was going through in my life. When I started college I gained, when I got a great new boyfriend I lost, when we broke up I gained it back, when my mother died, I gained more.
This became the pattern of eating and gaining that really intensified about 10 years ago when I ended an engagement, moved to another state, and started a new job where I traveled 60% of the time. I was sad, depressed, and continually gaining about a pound a month – for the next 5 years! The more I gained, the worse I felt, and the more I ate. It was a vicious cycle. I told myself I “deserved” to eat whatever I wanted to make myself feel better. I was eating out all the time, and couldn’t seem to stop myself from ordering things like loaded baked potatoes, fettuccini alfredo, macaroni and cheese, fried anything, and of course, dessert. And I never said “no” to the bread basket that came with dinner! The lift I got from indulging was always temporary, and the depression and self-loathing only deepened.
Then I began having medical issues because of how heavy I was. I started having back problems. My feet and lower legs would swell up like balloons. I couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs or across the parking lot at work without huffing and puffing. I got lazy and didn’t want to go anywhere because it just seemed to take too much effort. Then one day my back went out, and I was too heavy to lift myself up off the couch. That was it! I knew that I had to do something, I couldn’t live like this anymore.
So I went to a weight loss clinic and spent literally thousands of dollars on their special protein drinks, supplements, and vitamins that were all supposed to aid in my weight loss. My menu of approved foods was so limited. I ate so much chicken and eggs, I thought I would grow feathers! I did lose 60 pounds, but felt so deprived that I dropped out of the program and quickly gained back 80 pounds. Now I was at my highest weight ever – 280 pounds, and I was only 36 years old. I am a professional woman with a great career, great friends, a great life. But I just couldn’t control myself with food.
I grew up in an alcoholic family, so I knew the signs of chronic addition. I came to realize that I was just like my alcoholic relatives, but my alcohol was food – especially carbs. When a friend of mine at work started losing weight, she referred me to Dr. Tate. When she told me that he dealt with many behavioral issues such as alcoholism, drug addiction, and obesity, I knew that this could be the solution for me. I immediately called and made my first appointment. I didn’t allow myself to “think it over” or “him-haw” around, I just dialed the phone!
I have now lost over 45 pounds in about 4 1/2 months, and I have absolutely no craving for carbs. I can eat whatever I want as long as I follow Dr. Tate’s instructions on how much protein and carbs to eat per day. I don’t feel hungry or deprived, and I don’t want to “eat my way” through stressful situations. In fact, in the last 4 months, I have experienced the deaths of my father, my brother-in-law of 35 years, and my uncle. I watched my grieving relatives eat countless amounts of cake, pie, cookies, ice cream, rolls, breads, sandwiches, and scalloped potatoes. Being a “carb addict,” I did not allow myself to use this as an excuse to eat. I simply made a trip to the grocery store, made some smart food selections, and prepared my own food.
I still eat out quite often, too. No problem there either. I don’t focus on the menu of things I “can’t” eat. I stay focused on foods that will help me reach my goals. I have something I use called my “30 seconds of clarity.” As long as I stay focused during the 30 seconds that the waitress is at the table taking orders, I am fine. That’s when I tell her not to bring the bread basket, leave the croutons off my salad, and substitute the fries for broccoli! And I won’t be needing the dessert menu, either! I find that if I can get through ordering with clarity, the rest of my meal will be much less stressful and more enjoyable.
I still have a long way to go, but now I have realistic hope and goals. With the help of Dr. Tate and the understanding of my condition, permanent weight loss and a healthy life are in sight!
Thank you.

[I was having problems with] standing for long periods of time; fitting into my clothes; PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and fertility problems.
Treatment has been great so far. I have lost 18 pounds the first month with no cravings. Now I can work my hours without my legs and feet killing me. I fit into my old clothes with room left over. I generally feel better.
I was scared of the money I would be spending, but it’s actually cheaper than doing Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig. I am very happy with the results, and the medications are not that pricey.

My husband and I had huge weight issues. I gained a lot after having my daughter and kept gaining for ten years. My husband always had weight issues since he was a child.
We were nervous at our first visit, and I was a little skeptical because we have tried everything only to gain it all back. I was concerned about using drugs, and had heard bad rumors about low-carb.
Treatment for the first week was a little difficult. The drugs took time to adjust to. The rest of the time things have worked perfectly, and people at the center have been great! The experience is wonderful.
Well, my husband lost weight rapidly and his blood pressure has gone down dramatically. I have lost weight pretty quick for me, too. We both fit in smaller clothes and feel wonderful! The food program is not hard to stick to and is very yummy.
If you are overweight and want to save your life, this program is perfect for everybody. I was very concerned about my husband’s health, but he has changed his fate forever. If you are tired of being sick and tired, and fed up on buying bigger clothes every year, then you HAVE to join and save yourself. Dr. Tate and his staff are a Godsend and they are saving the world one chubby patient at a time! J
